Our STORY

The Cove at Lake Roesiger was born from a shared vision between Brandi, a Texas native, and Kevin, a lifelong Lake Roesiger local. After working their way up from employees to managers under previous ownership, they saw an opportunity—not just to preserve the spirit of "The Store," but to reimagine it as something more: a creative hub, a gathering place, and the heartbeat of the lake community.

The dream began in July 2023, under the previous owner, when Brandi and Kevin built the original beer garden and transformed the outdoor space into a family-friendly hangout. Since then, they’ve expanded the vision—adding kids’ activities, axe throwing lanes, art classes, and a packed summer schedule filled with music, events, and something for everyone.

Inspired by a beloved place in San Antonio, also called “The Cove,” they brought that same sense of connection, fun, and authenticity to Lake Roesiger. That dream officially came to life in April 2024, when Brandi & Kevin became the 13th owners of The Store.

Today, The Cove is much more than a general store. It’s where neighbors meet, families gather, and memories are made—whether you're enjoying live music under the stars, grabbing a cold drink, renting a kayak, or just popping in for a friendly chat.

As the only store on the lake, we offer essentials and non-ethanol fuel to save our community the long drive. But what we provide goes beyond convenience—we offer connection. Whether you're sipping coffee on the porch or painting in one of our creative classes, The Cove is here to welcome you.

We believe in creating a space where everyone feels at home. Where laughter echoes across the water, kids can play freely, and creativity thrives.

The Cove at Lake Roesiger: Where community meets creativity—and every visit feels like a reunion.

HISTORY OF THE STORE

The Lake Roesiger Store first opened its doors in 1939, founded by Davis Bairen and Guthrie Middleton. Over the past 85 years, it has been a cornerstone of the community — not just as a place to grab groceries or essentials, but as a gathering spot for neighbors and visitors alike.

Throughout its long history, the store has had thirteen different owners, each one leaving their mark and adding something unique to its story. From local goods to homemade treats, small upgrades to big dreams, every era brought new memories for the community.

Today, it proudly remains the only commercial business on the lake, continuing its legacy as a meeting place, a hub for families and friends, and a place where new traditions are still being made.
